Inburgering Writing exam practice Schrijven · A2 & B1

In the writing exam you write short texts: a message, an email, a reply to a letter or a form. You often get a few points that you must include in your answer.

What the exam looks like

  • You type your answers on a computer
  • Short messages, emails and forms
  • Each task lists points you must cover
  • A greeting and a closing are expected in letters

Exact length and pass marks can change. Always check your own DUO letter or inburgeren.nl.

3 traps that catch many candidates

1

Forgetting a point

If the task asks for three things, write all three. A missing point costs more than a spelling mistake.

2

Word order after ‘omdat’

After ‘omdat’, the verb moves to the end: ‘omdat ik ziek ben’.

3

No greeting or closing

Start with ‘Beste…’ or ‘Geachte…’ and end with ‘Met vriendelijke groet’.
