Inburgering Reading exam practice Lezen · A2 & B1

In the reading exam you read short everyday Dutch texts — letters from the municipality, emails, flyers, notices — and answer multiple-choice questions about them.

What the exam looks like

  • Multiple-choice questions on a computer
  • Real-life texts: letters, emails, flyers, notices
  • You look for specific information
  • Texts and questions are in Dutch

Exact length and pass marks can change. Always check your own DUO letter or inburgeren.nl.

3 traps that catch many candidates

1

Dates and times

Read carefully: ‘vanaf’, ‘tot’ and ‘uiterlijk’ change the answer completely.

2

Words from the text

The answer that repeats words from the text is often the trap. Check the meaning, not the words.

3

Reading everything

Read the question first, then search the text. That saves a lot of time.
