Inburgering Listening exam practice Luisteren · A2 & B1

In the listening exam you hear short everyday conversations and announcements, often with a picture of the situation. Then you answer multiple-choice questions.

What the exam looks like

  • Short conversations and announcements
  • Often a photo of the situation
  • Multiple-choice questions on a computer
  • You can only listen a limited number of times

Exact length and pass marks can change. Always check your own DUO letter or inburgeren.nl.

3 traps that catch many candidates

1

The speaker corrects themselves

‘Om drie uur… nee, om half vier.’ The last answer is the right one.

2

‘Maar’ and ‘toch’

These words often turn the meaning around. Listen to what comes after them.

3

Clock times

‘Kwart voor vier’ is 15:45, ‘half vier’ is 15:30. These come up a lot.

How InburgeringPass prepares you

  • Listen to natural Dutch voices, not robotic speech
  • Train with a two-play limit, like the exam
  • Read the transcript only after answering
