Inburgering Speaking exam practice Spreken · A2 & B1

In the speaking exam you see a short video or situation and answer out loud into a microphone. You get a short moment to think, then you speak. Your answer is recorded and checked later.

What the exam looks like

  • You answer into a headset microphone
  • A short situation, photo or video per question
  • A little thinking time, then you speak
  • You cannot redo an answer

Exact length and pass marks can change. Always check your own DUO letter or inburgeren.nl.

3 traps that catch many candidates

1

Answering too short

One word is rarely enough. Give a full sentence and add a reason with ‘omdat’ or ‘want’.

2

Freezing up

Use filler sentences like ‘Even denken…’ to win time. Silence costs more points than a small mistake.

3

Missing the question

Listen to what is asked: a wish, an opinion or a reason. Answer exactly that.
